Sheffield Running Club is a group of over 200 runners of mixed ability and ages. Membership starts at age 16, and we cater for everyone regardless of ability, age or gender. Members join us for a variety of reasons, from those who just want to run with others in a social environment right through to those who are driven by competition.


Our Training Nights

Our main nights are Tuesday and Thursday, meeting at 6.00pm for a 6.15pm start from the Main Cafe at the English Institute of Sport.


Track session at the Sheffield Hallam University City Athletic Stadium at Woodbourn Road starting at 6.00pm


A long run for around 75 minutes in ability groups between 10km and 16km.


Speed endurance training and intervals. Speed endurance involves short intervals at a speed of race pace or faster. These sessions cater for all abilities and involved warm-ups, drills and cool downs. The sessions last for around 1 hour.


On Saturdays near Oughtibridge at 10.00am there is hill training. A varied session including long and short repetition efforts in the beautiful Wharncliffe Woods.


Many of our members also meet each other for informal Sunday runs which are regularly announced on our Facebook group.
