12 runners made it to Woodbourn Road Stadium to run the 19th edition of the SRC Timed Miles.
Jane Wright Saunders ran exactly 8.00 minutes and would have been a few seconds under 8 minutes had she not stopped slightly early. Brett Hull and Carol Scarton are our first ever Learn-2-Run graduates to run the timed miles and ran 7.48 and 7.42 respectively, whilst Neal Matthews was an agonising 1 second short of his PB with 7.07.
Alan Pickard improved on his last mile time by 15 seconds to run 6.40, while Richard Ward ran his first timed mile in 5.52. Rachel Rose was another first timer, and her 5.46 promptly placed her in the ladies all-time top 10. Kelly Dorset and Jack Nuttgens, also newcomers, ran 5.45 and 5.38 while Mike Quinn made a welcome return after a long lay-off to run 5.57.
James Thompson and Rob Cassy continued their improvements over the last year; James made a 9 second improvement to run 5.22, while Rob improved by 21 seconds to run 5.09.
Thanks to Chris Ireland and Ben Mahoney for pacing, and Mike, Georgina and Dave for timekeeping / photo duties. Also massive thanks to Keith Binney who kindly came down to the track to be the official starter for the timed miles.
