On Saturday 21st February, the club ventured North to take part in the English National Cross Country Championships in Sedgefield, County Durham.

The Sedgefield course was undulating grass that covered several fields but with no major hills or sharp inclines lie we’ve had previously. Conditions were largely dry underfoot with a couple of stretches each lap with deep sloppy mud. We had a team in the Women’s and Men’s senior races.

The women’s team – 8.3k – featured Elizabeth Wood, finishing in 405th position in a time of 46:12 and Georgiana Swainson, finishing in 335th position with a time of 43:05.
The men’s team – 12.4k – featured Matt Clarry running to a finishing position of 686th with a time of 55:54 and Christopher Moss, finishing in 544th place with a time of 52:01
